My mom has been trying to pick out a certain present for my hubby tonight. We live in different towns, thus she has had to call me about seven billion times tonight. Ok, maybe not seven billion, but close, I promise. Anyway, during approximately the tenth call, my mom said, "People just don't have any Christmas spirit anymore." She then proceeded to tell me this story:
Mom - "I was in line to checkout at (store) and I turned around to look at some magazines and this one lady just moved my buggy out of the way and cut in front of me in line! She starte
d shouting at her husband because he was in line a few rows down, and then he came on over and cut in front of me, too! I almost opened my mouth to say something, but then I started thinking that it was Christmas and what did it really matter if one more person was in front of me in line. So I just kept my mouth shut and waited. I even felt sorry for them because they obviously didn't have the Christmas spirit. We kept waiting and a checkout opened up next to us and the lady told me to come on over to check out. So, I went ahead and checked out and paid for everything and I was thinking that God had rewarded me because I hadn't been mean to those people who cut in front of me. They were still waiting in the other line." (here she paused for a minute...I thought the story was over; it wasn't.)
She then said, "And even though I was full of the Christmas spirit, I might have accidentally circled my buggy around towards them and waved my receipt in the air a few times, just so that they knew I checked out first."

Your mother is quite hysterical! Reminds me of something my Momma would do! I can hear her now, "some people are just so inconsiderate!" Great story and so glad your mother is such a sweetheart!
Too funny! I agree-- remember the real reason for the season. Thanks for the reminder (:
HAH! That's so funny, I'm glad she didn't say anything - she seems so sweet!
